How to upload a video on Facebook in 6 easy steps
There are several different ways to upload a video on Facebook, but these 6 easy steps will teach you how to do it quickly and effortlessly with the least amount of technical know-how needed. All you’ll need is your computer and smartphone (if you wish to share from your phone). The first thing you’ll want to do is log in to your Facebook account from any device. Go to Videos in the left sidebar, click on Upload and choose what kind of video you’d like to upload: Live, Video on Demand or an Attachment.
Step 1: Upload a Video File
You can upload videos to Facebook using the desktop site or the mobile app. To upload a video using the desktop site, click the Upload button in the upper-right corner of your screen and select the video file you'd like to upload. The file must be less than 4 GB in size and have one of the following extensions: .3g2, .3gp, .3gpp, .asf, .avi, .dat, .divx, .dv, .f4v, .flv, .m2ts, .m4v, .mkv,
Step 2: Choose Where to Post it
Now that you’ve chosen your video, it’s time to decide where you want to post it. You can post your video on your personal Timeline, a friend or family member’s Timeline, in a group, or on a Page you manage.
If you want to post your video on someone else’s Timeline, keep in mind that they will need to approve it first. To choose where to post your video:
Click What's on your mind? at the top of your News Feed or Timeline
Step 3: Title, Description, and Tags
After you select your video, you’ll be able to edit the title, description, and tags. The title and description are pretty self-explanatory—just add whatever you want people to see when they come across your video. As for tags, these are keywords that help categorize your video so people can find it more easily. Adding relevant tags can help improve your video’s reach.
Step 4: Select Who Can See the Video
You can select who can see your video by choosing an audience from the drop-down menu. The options are: Public, Friends, Only Me, or Custom. If you choose Custom, you'll be able to select specific friends or lists of friends who can see your post.
Step 5: Set Display Options
You can set your video's privacy settings when you upload it. By default, new videos are public, but you can also choose to make them private or unlisted. If you want people who aren't your friends on Facebook to be able to find and watch your videos, you can choose to make them public.
Step 6: Click Share!
You're all done! Your video is now uploaded to Facebook and ready to be shared with your friends. To share your video, click the Share button at the top of the page. You can also add a caption or description before you share.
